Refunding a payment

Payments are refunded in the sale the payment was made in. If the sale is closed click on the Open sale button.

In the Payments section, click the Refund payment button for the payment you wish to refund:

You can modify the amount being refunded and choose if you want to:

  1. Delete the payment (this removes the payment from the sale without refunding it)
  2. Refund the payment (this records a refund within the sale)

If the payment was made via a payment processor that supports automatic refunds, you will see the option to 'Refund transaction with *processor name*'. Enabling this option actions the refund in your payment processor when you submit it in Ovatu. This eliminates the need to log into your payment processor account to action the refund there too.

If the 'Refund transaction with *processor name*' option is not offered, the refund is recorded in the sale in Ovatu, however you will need to log into your payment processor and process the refund there too

The refund will be recorded as a transaction in the Payments section:
