Selling gift cards in-house
There are multiple ways to sell a gift card:
- From the 'Customers Profile' (in the Gift Card / Credit tab)
- From the 'Gift Cards' page (Manage > Gift Cards)
- By adding a gift card to a sale (explained below)
To sell a gift card via a sale, open the sale and click:
- The down arrow next to + Product, then
- Add gift cards
There are two options for creating gift cards:
Option 1: The gift card can be Gifted to a customer.
This means that it will be emailed to the customer as a gift at a scheduled time.
The gift card will not be linked to the customer file until the customer views the email and follows the prompts to claim it.
Option 2: The gift can be Assigned to the customer,
This means the gift card will be immediately noted in the recipient's customer profile.
Custom numbers: You may enter your own gift card number in the 'Custom Number field'. This number will replace the system-generated number and will be valid for use when paying online.
You can also use the Search existing gift cards option to find unpaid gift cards:
- Select the recipient name in the Customer field.
- Select a gift card from the list
Once the gift card is created/selected, it will appear in the sale, where you can click Pay now to pay for it:
Your gift cards can all be viewed by clicking:
- Manage in the main menu, then
- Gift Cards
On this page, you can:
- Edit gift cards (including the scheduled delivery details)
- Email gift cards
- Create or view a gift card sale (if unpaid, the sale button will be blue)
- View the history of gift cards
- Delete gift cards
- See gift card numbers (either the system-generated number or your customer number)
- See if gift cards are unclaimed by customers
- View the scheduled delivery time
New gift cards can also be created on this page.
A customers gift cards can be found in their customer profile by clicking:
- Customers
- The customer name, then
- The Gift Cards / Credit tab
