How do I Refund a Payment?
To Refund a Payment, open the Sale (see How do I edit a Sale?)
Refunds can be carried out in the Payments section of the Sale (see How do I add a Payment to a Sale?)
To Refund a Payment, click on the next to the Payment
Enter in the Amount you wish to Refund
Click Refund
Please note: Clicking Delete will delete the payment fully, this is not the same as a Refund
Once a Payment had been Refunded, it will appear in the Payments section with the tag Refund
The Refund is always attributed to the original payment method
Click on Save at the top of the sale page to save your changes

PayPal (online) | Important: When you refund an online PayPal payment, this is simply a record of the Refund. To action the actual transferal of monies to the Customer via the original payment method, please log into your PayPal account and process the Refund there |
Stripe (online) | If the 'Refund transaction with Stripe' checkbox is selected, Stripe will will automatically process the transaction for you. |
PayPal Here (card reader) | It's possible to refund PayPal Here card reader payments via the Web App. If the 'Refund transaction with PayPal Here' checkbox is selected, PayPal Here will automatically process the transaction for you. |
iZettle (card reader) | iZettle refunds needs to be processed via the Ovatu iOS App, using the iZettle card reader. |
Square (card reader) | It's possible to refund Square card reader payments via the Web App. If the 'Refund transaction with Square' checkbox is selected, Square will automatically process the transaction for you. |
Sum Up (card reader) | It's possible to refund Sum Up card reader payments via the Web App. If the 'Refund transaction with Sum Up' checkbox is selected, Sum Up will automatically process the transaction for you. |
Refunds are noted in the Payments Report as an additional transaction and the amount listed in brackets. The refunded amount(s) are deducted from the totals
