How do I add a Custom Field to Customers?

To add a Custom Field to Customers, choose Manage > Custom Fields


Custom Fields for Customers can be created in the Customer section:


Click +Add Custom Field to add a new Custom Field 


Complete the following fields:


FieldDescription
NameEnter the label for the Custom Field
CodeEnter an internal code, which will appear in two places:
- on a CSV file when this data is exported
- in an email template

Please enter a code with no spaces and one which is unique amongst the Custom Fields in your accounts
Model TypeThis is the object that the Custom Field relates to.
It will be pre-selected to Customer, but can be changed
Data TypeSelect the data type for the field from the following options:
- Text
- Long Text
- Multiple
- Yes/No
- Number
- Date
HistorySelect this checkbox to record all changes made to the value entered in this Field
Customer VisibleSelect this checkbox for this Field to be visible to the Customer
Not applicable to all Model Types
Customer EditableSelect this checkbox for this Field to be editable by the Customer
Not applicable to all Model Types
Default ValueEnter a value that you would like this Field to be pre-filled with
Or leave this section blank
ValuesIf you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections here Please enter the values in a list, one underneath the other

Click Save


This Custom Field will appear in the following areas:

Customer Information

When editing or creating a Customer, this Field will appear in the Custom Fields Tab:


Online Booking

Once a Customer Custom Field has been created it shows in the list of fields in the New Customer Registration Fields section on the Online Booking > Settings page. If the Show, Primary and Required checkboxes are selected for the Customer Custom Field, that field will show to new Customers who are creating their first booking online, and they will be required to complete it. Customer Custom Fields do not show to existing Customers while they're creating bookings online. Reservation Custom Fields do show to all Customers that are creating bookings online. See How do I add a Custom Field to Reservations?

This is how the Customer Custom Field shows on the New Customer Registration Page when setup to do so:

Tap Edit 

In the CUSTOMER FIELDS section, then tap + Add Custom Field


Complete the following fields:

Select this checkbox for this Field to be editable by the Customer (Not applicable to all Model Types)
Model TypeThis is the object that the Custom Field relates to.

ValuesIf you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections in the Values Field.  These values need to be entered in a list, one beneath the other

Tap Save


The New Custom Field will appear in the following areas:

Customer Information


Online Booking

When creating an Online Booking, the Custom Field will appear in the 'Your Details' section of the process:


Please note: in order for the Custom Field to appear during Online Booking, it must be:

  • set to Customer Visible AND
  • selected in your Customer Registration Fields settings

To add a Custom Field to Customers, tap Manage, then tap Custom Fields 


Tap the green + icon



Complete the fields in the New Custom Field box:

Multi ValuesIf you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections in the Values Field.  These values need to be entered in a list, one beneath the other

Tap SAVE


The New Custom Field will appear in the following areas:

Customers > INFO tab
